A cable sheave with 48″ outside diameter, a 1.5″ wire rope groove, weighing approximately 1275 lb. The U-shaped groove is sized to the wire rope diameter to support the rope across the groove radius and limit contact stress and rope wear.

UTEC Industrial precision-machines this sheave from high-alloy, fine-grain steel billets and performs in-house induction hardening of the groove surface with hardness verification before shipment. Full raw material chemistry documentation — the complete chemical composition of the steel — is available with every order. UTEC has manufactured crane wheels and sheaves in the United States since 1983.
